Eva Schnerer Hanusz, 88, of Shelby died Thursday, March 22, 2001 at Crestwood Care Center after an extended illness. Mrs. Hanusz was born December 27, 1912 in Mansfield, Ohio living in the area most of her life. She was pastored by Ontario United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hanusz was a pet lover and enjoyed her dogs and cats and taking care of birds.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Diane M. & George Matusic of California and Geraldine & Dean Crawford of Mansfield; five grandchildren and their spouses, Cathy & Joe Melendez of California, Sherry & Greg Ferrell of Wooster, Tammy & Marvin Welch of New Mexico, Laurie & Joe Kehres of Mansfield, and Timothy & Cheryl Crawford of Shelby; and eleven great-grandchildren, Hillary Johnson, Katie and Aundrea Melendez, all of California, Jason & Alicia Ferrell of Wooster, Joshua and Destiny Stephenson of New Mexico, Erica and Braden Kehres of Mansfield, and Courtney and Christopher Crawford of Shelby. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter & Eva Gottfried Schnerer; her husband, Alexander Hanusz; a brother, Pete Schnerer; and a sister, Eva Schnerer.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to funeral services to be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. conducted by Dr. Claire Hess.
