I want to offer my condolences to the Kern family as I worked for Pat at VP Buildings in the international group that he started from 1995 to 2000 when I changed groups. He was a mentor, friend, loved golf with that crazy bending drive that landed in the fairway, I agree with the other comments that his energy and enthusiasm was infectious and he really cared about people.
So saddened to learn of Pat's passing. Pat was Vice President of our fraternity when I was president, instilling a sense of excitement and enthusiasm in all our endeavors, Pat was the spark plug of our 50 fellow Phis. He will be remembered by all. My prayers go out to all his family.
Pat was a Phi Delt brother with me at GMI. Being only a year apart, we saw many events together. I recall Pat's boundless energy and fun sense of humor. GMI was no simple task, so we needed to share our energies and humor to stay on track. Pat did that very well. I fell fortunate to have known him.
Best wishes to all of you in Pat's family during this difficult time.
I was so sorry to hear of Pat's death! I graduated from Mansfield Madison in 1970. He was a good friend to my sister Chris. Every time I drive on Rt. 13 and pass his childhood home, I think of him. I always liked Pat and thought he was a great guy! Condolences to his family.
Thank you coach for everything when I was growing up. I could’ve been in so many other places, but you showed me baseball and so much more. Glad I was able to talk to you one more time. This one hurts, but God needed you. My prayers go out to the family. I love you all and will continue to pray for healing, peace and understanding.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
My heart goes out to Kathy and the family. Pat was a great guy. He was my little brother and roomate at Phi Delta Theta fraternity during our college days. I have many great memories from those days. I know he struggled with health issues for quite a few years, and he was a fighter. But, now his struggles in this life are over. May he rest in peace. I look forward to seeing him again some day and re-live some of our memories.
All of us in Integra Construcciones Metalicas are honored to have known Mr. Patrick Kern "Pat".
Our heartfelt condolences go out to his wife, Kathy, his daughter, Allison, his sons, Mason and Joshua and to his family.
Rest in peace with Our Lord. Monterrey, N.L. Mexico: May 28, 2021

Prayers, Peace, & Blessings
I am so sad to hear the news about Pat. We went to school together, and I will never forget his ever present smile and positive outlook. I also lived on the same street as Kathy when she moved to Sunset Dr. May God hold your family close at this difficult time, and know you are in my prayers.
I had the pleasure to be hired by Pat in 1996 and work for him directly and I directly for 5 years in Memphis and Argentina for VP Buildings. I can say that he was the most inspiring and energetic person I have ever worked for. His positiveness irradiated miles away. I will remember you, your lessons and your friendship forever. RIP, Pat. We will surely miss you. David Schnell (Santiago, Chile)
I was sorry to hear the news about the passing of Pat. My condolences to all in the Kern family. Pat was such a decent, fun, energetic and interesting person to work with. I worked at VP Buildings with Pat back in 1996 through 2003 and went to Brazil with him to work on a large project down there. His enthusiasm was infectious. If it wasn't for Pat, I never would have travelled overseas and to Brazil and never would have met my wife. I married a woman from Brazil 23 years ago and soon I will retire and we will move back to Brazil. I'm fortunate and glad to have met and worked with Pat.
My sincere heartfelt sympathy Kathy and family. Pat will always be a part of my memories from our Madison Class of 71 days. So sorry for your loss.
What a shock! So so sorry for your loss. Prayers and blessings for your family.
My sincere heartfelt sympathy Kathy and family. Pat will always be part of my memories of our Madison Class of 71. So sorry for your loss.
I’m so sorry for your loss and my heart goes out to you and your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
I remember when Pat and Kathy lived in Memphis, TN and l did to with my son Andrew at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Pat would visit after work and drop a toy off to Andrew or Andrew's favorite meal. That was Pat saying you are in my thoughts Andrew. Pat and Kathy had a generous heart for us while we had a
bone-marrow transplant in Memphis. Now Andrew and Pat both walk around Heaven together.
What a celebration there was in heaven when Pat entered through those gates, and was meant by Dad and Mom, and Andrew, and all the family that greeted him!! So blessed and honored to have been his older sister and to be a part of this Kern Family and shared so many good times and sad times with Pat and all my family throughout the years. We will miss him so much, but he left us a strong lesson in perserverence and dedication to being such a productive influence in the work force, and dedicated to his career and family. The game of golf I started because of him and now every time I play, I will remember Pat, and his passion to play the game!! Rest in peace and I will see you in heaven someday too!! All my love forever!! Kathy,Doug and family
Please accept our deepest condolences for your family's loss.
